Fuzz's brother gave her a CD, that someone had given to him: Life in Cartoon Motion, by Mika. I guess he didn't like the music, but she sure did, and she had me listen to some of the songs. I'd never heard of Mika before, but so far I'm enjoying his music ( Read more... )

It's a fun video - though obviously when they're talking about the lady in the bed with the wolves, the vid calls her a "Bore", whereas the live-sung version calls her something.... else.

I'm suprised you haven't heard of it though - it's been going around the blogosphere for a while now. One guy is even going about making an all Citra dance-vid for it.

Mika live is something else. He did an acoustic set for the BBC that they ran as an interactive special, it blew us away when we watched it.

*giggles* It's one of my favorite albums that I listen to. This is the first time that I've seen the video. BigBlueFox put it into last year's FC video that he made at the beginning.

The thing that amazes me is how dynamic his voice can go. Like in 'Grace Kelly' (Track 1) and Love Today (Track 4). Dang he can make it high pitched...

Heh...I watched "Yellow Submarine" (1968) when I was little (Yes, I was in the late '60's).

Mika has been compared to Freddie Mercury (in both a positive and negative way). Brian May is a big fan of his, and has defended him on his Blog a few times. I can hear a lot of Queen in some of his stuff (I've had Life in Cartoon Motion for well over a year now, it's a good album)

*nods* There's nothing wrong with Queen (or Mika for that matter) ^_^

I was always impressed how the group could change their sound from hit to hit.
though, I like alot of Queen's music, "Radio Gaga" is probably my fav!
