I read a book the other day that said, "Adults are just kids with more money who think they have power."
My mother is the epitome of this idea.

Today, she throws a temper tantrum because it's her weekend (because it's Easter, a holiday which means nothing to me, this fact being another "heartbreak" for her) and I want to spend it with my dad ( Read more... )

Sometimes giving up things you want to do for your family is a sign of maturity, you know. Can't have independence without maturity. >: You're reaching the age where you have to start taking care of your parents and all now. idk, have you thought about that? Yeah, so they are kids with money. That makes you the adult so you take care of them, put up with them, but still learn to love them 'cause they are family.

When people are desperate and stuff they will ask and say silly things. :c I lost count how many times I asked my parents when are we going to get our stuff back from the fire restoration people. Like. It's the only thing you can do, ask, maybe something changed, keep updated. :c idk. give her more chance? Try to understand her more? :c If all fails, continue to suck it up and play by her rules?
