Okay, honestly, I didn't want to bring this up, but due to some pent up frustrations that have been building in me as of late, I have to release this rant to the world
( Read more... )
hmm... I wouldn't say "no women EVER". but I can certainly say there's nothing wrong with more or less turning off your attraction switch while surrounded by all the wrong types.
it's one of the reasons why I'm still a virgin and will continue to be one, unless I decide that my boyfriend is worth sleeping with.
I personally think that if you're patient enough, you'll find the right woman for you--one who won't think you're "ghetto-tastic" or whatever the crap they say these days.
I hope so. I'm trying my best, but this is driving me to my breaking point. I can't take much more of this. As I've stated in previous rants, all of the ones I begin to get feelings for are either recently taken or don't have mutual feelings for me (and I don't blame them at all). I'd rather be a hermit if I have to deal with the unwanted attention.
Your advice is always welcome here! And you're right. I did that, just now, and it got both of them off my case, although, with the one at work I had to display my mean side in doing so (something I don't like to normally do, but will if necessary). I hope there are still some good ones out there because it seems like the bad is terribly outweighing the good right now.
Besides the obvious stupidity, tactlessness and grossness of the situation, the fact it's taking place at work is disturbing; I tend to wonder if sexual harrassment is being implied here. Anyway, it's sort of unsettling and distracting-sounding to me, and very unprofessional, but I could be wrong, too. *shrugs* :-/
I didn't know you were an African American. Not that I default to any other color, I usually just see people as their avatars until I visually am guided otherwise. It doesn't change anything in my mind but a little color correction for what I guess you may look like.
On subject, though, I don't blame you for being annoyed by the way these girls are acting. It's very rude and, you're right, they're judging you on looks along - not cool. My sisters are all that way and it confuses the heck out of me. Shallow and being anti-intellectual is NOT a good thing... only you wouldn't know that talking to them or their friends. It kind of worries me.
It's okay, Milady. I rarely give out any clues as to me being African American. Mostly, the way I carry myself and the way I speak (which is also the way I type: properly) would have you think I'm of another race besides AfAm because the normal male of that race wouldn't dare think of doing anything of that sort. And if you want to know what I look like, go to my DA page. I have a couple of photos of myself there.
I kind of feel sorry for you that your sisters are the same way. It worries me as well that people are this shallow and anti-intellectual, but overall, where I live, it's an everyday occurrence. People are like that around here, especially females. This is what I have to deal with, and it's causing my mind major damage, damage I don't know how to fix.
You're awesome because you're nice and sweet and caring, not 'cause you're black. After all, I didn't even know you were when we first became friends.
I don't blame you for feeling that way. It works the other way around too, though. I get some annoying guys because I'm a natural redhead. I can only hear the whole burning bush joke so many times, it's not funny guys.
I'm proud of you for sticking up for yourself and not lowering yourself!
