I have to drive that route everyday to and from work. It's not as bad as you think. There's not a lot of slowdown or jams as some might lead you to believe.

Whew. Glad to see you got home alright!

Might not have work tomorrow myself if it keeps icing like it is. Ice = Eeeew.

I hope you don't have to work tomorrow, either. Look at the pics I took. I know wherever you are in Ohio, it'll look like that, too.

We got about 6, 7 inches here in Springfield. it was the heavy, wet snow. Good for playing in, utter crap for driving on. My car didn't go anywhere today...it was stuck in a drift that was about 12 inches high. Digging him out was fun.

Just looking at those photos and imagining having to drive in that scares the holy hell out of me. I wrecked in the snow once and haven't ever gotten over the fear of driving in it...thankfully it mostly melted here, so the parkinglot SHOULD, in theory, be manageable tomorrow.

Got some pictures of my own to put up here in a moment :P

I can imagine something like that would scare you from driving in snow. Sometimes it takes only one, and one is enough. I'm glad you weren't up here, though. The view from the highway, as you saw, was really nasty, and my truck doesn't have the best tires in the world. I think today if you were riding with me, the the on ramp slide out would've probably scared you as well.

Yeah, few things scare the crap out of me. Snow and driving on it are one of them.

No way in hell would anyone have bribed me with donuts to stay XD

It was pretty nasty going into Illinois this morning. The highways weren't salted yet since it was so early, but I took my time. I was coming around the curve on eastbound I-64, where it forks, when I witnessed an accident ( ... )

Oh, I have the worst tires of all the accident vehicles as well (but having rear wheel drive does help a bit). It's not the tires that matter the most. It's the driver. And I don't know how many times I've stated this, but people in St. Louis (and the state of Missouri for that matter) can't drive worth a damn! Why do you think there are so many accidents everytime you turn on the news in the morning? Even if you have a 4WD vehicle, if you don't know how to handle it in hazardous weather, you don't need to be driving it, period! When I was parking that TrailBlazer today, I had it in 2WD mode at first and was sliding around like a normal car, then I switched it to 4WD mode, and I made sure to take it easy coming around every corner of that parking lot because that lot was blanketed with snow. People think they can switch to 4WD mode and drive any kind of way they want, but Mother Nature shows them the error of their stupidity, and that's why their precious brand new (probably) vehicles are 248 at the moment (that's 2 down, 4 ( ... )
