Sounds like you have more than enough ammo to file a complaint at the BBB (www.bbb.org). I would, because no auto garage should jerk anyone around like that and get away with it. I bet it was one of the douche bags who work there that took your plates. I believe there is a St. Louis community here on LJ; why don't you go there and post your experience with that garage. At least others will be warned and would think twice about the place.

Dang that stinks. I agree with artistic_idol. File a BBB complaint, and plug that info into the St. Louis community. At least you'll prevent a few people from going through the same crap.

You've got more than eough ammunition to file a complaint to the BBB right now. They'll get things handled in 30 days at most. Also, you've got more than enough ammo to take your case to civil court. You can sue for damages in wages, car repairs, and for fees associated with your plates. You could probably get attorney and court costs from it as well. Let me know what path you want to take, and we can DEFINITELY look into it. This is way too much bullshit for your car to be gone for this long.
