Even though I never showed off the last new house... here's a newer one! The Garden District-style one was too big and full of decorative but truly pointless objects (ie. all of those columns, flower bushes, and willow trees), and was causing vicious lag. The new one runs a lot better-there's minimal lag, and everything is generally smoother. It ( Read more... )

I am so jealous of all your SKILLZ. I want to steal them with that weird aspiration reward vacuum thing. LMAO.

It's gorgeous. SO gorgeous!

seriously every house you've ever built is soooo gorgeous!!!
May I ask how you get the ceilings to appear? I try to do the level up or whatever but then the camera moves and all that...
also how do you get the counters to be diagonal? I mean, I know HOW but everytime I do they don't align with each other :(

There are downloadable ceiling tiles somewhere at MTS2 (just search "ceiling tiles"). You have to place each one separately so it's a bit of a task, but it's worth it in my opinion!

For the diagonal counters, I used boolProp snapObjectsToGrid false, and then just moved them into place so they all fit together.

Oooh, that actually works? I saw counters placed like the ones you have in this house on a floor plan a few weeks ago and wanted to try it, but I figured it wouldn't even work and didn't bother to try because I am so motivated and not lazy. I want to try it now!

Yeah, I never thought it'd work either until I saw it somewhere else, and then I was all over that idea! I doubt the ones that are mashed together are actually useable, but who cares? It looks cool enough to be completely useless!
