Ups and downs
Ups:~ Have gotten the job! Woo! I now have a real permanent job, with health insurance and orientation training (hee!) and stuff. Filled out the paperwork Friday morning...it pays a little less right now than I had hoped for, but I could be considered for a raise in early summer, so we'll see. At least I'm making a little bit more money now

Also have you considered getting a cat? I admit I am sort of the opposite of you in terms of living alone, but seeing as I only know like two people here, I have much less to do about it when I AM feeling lonely. And I am so much less lonely and depressed since I got Arslan. And cats can deal with you being gone all day, and don't cost all that much to care for (like $200-300 for adoption, vet, and basic supplies, and then less than $50/month for food and litter).

And I've thought about a pet, but given that I'm only in this particular apartment for two more months, then who knows where for a year, and then planning to get out of Providence after that (ie, a lot of moving around over the next year), a pet might not be the best idea right now. Plus, you know, I'm a woman who can kill off cacti through dehydration, and who occasionally forgets to eat for days at a time. Pet = maybe not a good idea. But it's a thought.
