I know it's just a physiological reaction to pain, but I can't stop crying [Ok, I've stopped now as I type this.] I had another face zapping treatment, and for the amount of pain I'm feeling, I can't believe that I'm not covered in blood, or that I wasn't actually set on fire ( Read more... )

*hugs*

I feel your pain, literally. My esthetician was all enthused about showing me her laser machine so i let her do a patch test on me.

It hurt way worse than the bikini wax I'd just had... and it was a squicky burny pain that made me really uncomfortable, to boot.

In addition to a topical, maybe try taking some naproxen or ibuprofen before? Too bad you can't get Tylenol 1 over the counter in the US like we can up in Canadia.

:/ Someone needs to create an appliance which can allow me to record and transmit hugs across the internet.

[hugs] Hopefully the end results will be worth the process. (Also, you totally need a Trogdor icon; love the tags.) Is there anything else they can give you that has a different operant mechanism that wouldn't conflict with the meds you're on?

Wow, while I've had tears come to my eyes, I've never had it quite so bad.. Lidocaine was prescribed for me, too, but mostly because the place I went to didn't seem to deal with other options. Especially on my Mom's side of the family, the *caine series of drugs do basically nothing. My grandmother, an RN, always requires that they give her or Grandpa something else by name, over any protestations because they know better. I'll have to ask her about alternatives, next I talk, for that matter.. I should go going back under soon.

*hugs you tightly*

Just try to spin it around as best as possible. Given it hurts so much means it's working darned well most likely. For me outside of appendicitis there wasn't much more painful than this, rrrrf.
