After smoking a pipe for oh, almost 30 years I suppose, I find myself at last gravitating away from aromatics.  I have been finding more and more satisfaction in Virgina / Perique blends as well as some Latakia blends and even some true English blends.

Paul here:
I have always wanted to try a pipe. I smoke cigars and love the Acid brand. What would recommend for somebody who has never tried a pipe.

I overshot my LJ limit!

The flame: Matches, a Zippo or Bic-type lighters are all good. Do NOT use a butane torch! Soft-flames only! Although briar is almost fireproof, you can burn through it VERY quickly with a torch.
