you know how to make rice w/o a cooker?

...yes? Rice = two parts water, one part rice. Boil until soft and the water is gone.

Could you PLEASE please please show me how? EVERY time I've tried, I fail. Miserably. I've spent hours cooking rice and throwing it out. Honest.
