So once they left their three-day Why Did You Put Us In A Foreign House sulk, the cats went exploring. And discovered that the lower kitchen cabinets are 1) connected from one side of the kitchen to the other and 2) open-able with a paw. This has caused them to be proclaimed Kitty Territory Forever (I had no say in this particular proclamation

Awww. Reminds me of once when I had 7 cats and I had to clear them out for the exterminator. I knew their favorite hangouts in the house, so it was easy, but he watched me briskly gathering them up and putting them outside in bemusement. Now, the closet in my room didn't have a proper door, so Tiger could get in there with no trouble, and there was a missing board between my closet and the dining room closet that we kept our linens in. So Tiger basically had his secret passageway to the linen closet and that was his favorite place to sleep. I knew he would be there. So after chucking a few other cats outside, I opened the linen closet, scooped Tiger up, and carried him to the door, while the exterminator stared. To him it must have seemed that I simply opened a random door and there were cats behind it, like Tribbles or something.
