Ooooh, I am excited for this new feature! I like the Hermione one especially. I'm eager to see what you do after more practice with the pad, since these are already pretty kick-ass.

Yay! I'm glad you're excited about this new feature! I am excited to be offering this new feature! I will be posting a lot more sketches in the future, and hopefully some of them will look okay :D I do need more practice with the pad and figuring out what makes things look nicer, and what pencils I have more control over. I look back at how I rendered the eyes, and I'm kind of disappointed it doesn't look as fresh or crisp as I would usually render eyes on real life paper. Perhaps its the instrument I chose in Corel Painter X. Maybe there's a better implement somewhere else in that program. There are so many options in Painter, and I'm new to it, so it's going to take some more exploring!

I liked the Hermione too because it's a very loose and delicate gesture. I tend to go very broad and bold when I'm playing around, but with the Hermione I had more of a set idea of what I wanted to do with it.

Very interesting! I have no drawing skills so I can't critique, but it'll definitely be fun to see them!

Ahhh no need for drawing skills to critique :D Some art critics (possibly many) do not have skills and are not artists, but they do great jobs critiquing :D I'm glad you like to see these! I'll be making them a regular feature, and I wasn't sure how well they would be received since they're, really...just sketches. Although I'm working on a painting right now in Corel and that's an interesting experience :D

Wow, you're really good! I don't really understand the whole tablet thing, but the drawings are gorgeous. I can feel the emotion in your sketches, especially by the one when Harry stares at Voldemort's body. It's kinda sad. Great work :)

Thanks! Hahaha, I probably should have drawn Voldemort's body, but I can't picture it very well, and so...sometimes it is easier to imagine something rather than look at a bad rendering of what you did not imagine.

I really like emo!Harry, because I think for such a young boy who has suffered so much trauma and hardship, and who bears the weight of a prophecy, he is allowed to feel those weights. He is also very introspective to me, so the Harry in my mind is very self-incriminating, and self-blaming. It is something he will have to heal from when he does fulfill the prophecy and is finally released to lead his own life.

I just realized that I never got around to friending you back, so I just did, especially since it appears we share so many interests!

Well, maybe it's just better this way :) The voldemort in the movies wasn't really what I imagined him like. I can't really imagine him actually.. So he could only disappoint i believe. I like it this way, the explanation is clear enough, we know he's there [a]

I didn't really like the emo!harry at first [in the books]. He sometimes totally annoyed me in books 5 & 6. But it's getting better in the last book, he really grows up. And you can really see the grown-up Harry in your sketch in my opinion. I can't really express myself in words.. He seems sad.. He has fulfilled the prophecy, but he doesn't feel free at that moment. He won, but he lost a lot as well.

And that's okay :) But my journal isn't really about my interests, it's more about my daily life, very random ^^

I was holding my breath and utterly devastated when I saw Voldemort played by Ralph Fiennes on screen for the first time when Goblet of Fire came out. It really helped that we never saw Voldemort in any of the promo pictures, and I was utterly unprepared for him. I was devastated because he was EXACTLY as I envisioned, and it was so eerie and incredible. Of course, he's supposed to have red eyes, but I thought he was MUCH scarier with those blue human eyes. WOW. Goblet of Fire was such a wonderful adaptation of the books, and it really spurred me to keep reading the books.

I have no idea what this tablet thing is! You'll have to take a picture of it. *g*

Anyway, I love the sketches. Makes me wish I was back in art class again, all those years ago.

:::sigh:::

Well I didn't take a picture of my tablet yet, but here is a picture that came from the LaPazz people:

Yay! I'm glad you like the sketches. I made this post as a kind of "test" post to see how people respond. If people are totally bored by the sketches, then...no more sketches :D But it appears that a few people at least are interested by the sketches, so since my goal is to entertain, then I may be posting quite many sketches in the future :D Well, because I sketch constantly when it comes to this tablet.

Oh! Well... oh! It's got a pencil-like thingie and everything. Boy, I am behind on technology.

Hehee it's actually a rather old technology, and when I was little, I have played with a cheap tablet before, and found it really difficult to use. I guess technology has gotten better, or maybe that tablet was way too cheap. Anyways, this is really easy to use. I was sort of afraid I won't be used to drawing with my eyes on the screen while my hand moved on a tablet. Usually you stare down at the paper you are drawing on, and you see the lines you are making, and so coordination isn't a big problem. But when you're drawing on a tablet, your eyes and your hand and your drawing lines are not all together, and so coordination might be a problem. But I had absolutely no problems coordinating, so I was pleasantly surprised.
