Ergh, so it turned out that our neat monitor actually died and lasted only for 2 years. Can't you imagine that? :C But anyways, my friend went at my home yesterday to check up the monitor and yes, he finally concluded that it was the monitor who died out, not some kind of video card or the connectors. And interestingly, he even added that LCD ( Read more... )

Hmmm... Now that reminds me, the PC set including the monitor might not be of a famous brand of sorts. I guess I have to check it out once again. :T

LCD monitors can last if taken care of properly (occasional dusting and proper ventilation). Plus, they don't weigh as much as the old CRT monitors. Truthfully, I go with LCD/flatscreens mostly for space.

Find a monitor that suits your eyes and the artwork you're doing. The colors that pop up on my monitor tends to look slightly different compared to what I see on my laptop.

I haven't had a problem with a monitor like that, but I don't know how long yours stay on per day *shrugs* Good to know you had a backup.

And yay for WfC! I need to poke at it and see if it works without an internet connection.

Hahaha! And you bet they're NOT durable!
I had a Samsung HD LCD monitor that only lasted 3 MONTHS! XD and suddenly it died on me by no apparent reason. There was this little legal issue with Samsung since we were paying it on a 12-month creadit. And after another four months Samsung chaged it for a new one and gave me a permanent warranty card that states if in the course of three years this one dies, they'll give me a new one and so on like for the rest of my life X3

At least... I'll never buy monitors again XD
