The new University Place refectory has decided to get with the 21st century and introduce a cook-to-order noodle and stir-fry bar. And it's obvious that they have NO IDEA how to make it work.

I held out until 2 yesterday to have a look and because I knew it'd be hellish at lunchtime. I must say, I wasn't massively impressed either. When my friend asked for rice with her curry, they looked at her as though she was mad. I don't like the 'little clusters' idea. The refectory made much more sense to me, although the choice in this place is much wider.

Unstewed stir fry - what a lovely idea!

Well, it is England. People would feel uncomfortable without the queues.

I haven't been to University Place yet, but I've no idea why they moved the refectory away from its existing place (also, it's no longer open on Saturdays, which is extremely annoying!). The noodles in the Lime Cafe (downstairs at the back of the Samuel Alexander Building) seem to be cooked properly though if you want to try there.

I have seen them frying stuff before, and the website also claims that noodles are served:
