i understand that problem. I had end-note dramas with a law essay earlier this year. Unfortunately, I never actually completely resolved the problems I had with it. I can refer you to this URL which shows you how to change settings in End Note to make it deal with legal references, but I was still having dramas even after changing the settings... But the URL shows you how to delve deep into End Note and actually change the names of the fields displayed (so you can include a case name, so it may be worth looking at) See http://www.lib.monash.edu.au/tutorials/citing/lawcit.html and scroll down to the End Note heading. Otherwise, I know Melb Uni and Uni of NSW had some End Note styles as well.
I can't believe there's no EndNote import filter for Westlaw or Lexis... have convinced one of my geek friends here to try writing one. If he succeeds we'll be rich, it seems like everyone is looking for one and nobody has one!
Yes, I know. I had quite a shock coming back from having my pick of nice sciency styles for my thesis last year to discover that there was nothing in the law domain. Let me know if your friend succeeds!

Hope that's helpful :-) *hugs*
