I feel isolated. Not by the fault of anyone, just because where I live. Still I am the master of my own destiny and thus it is well within my reach to change all that

I'd say definitely try organizing your own if you feel game, people will come! :) We're looking at doing a small local fursuit dance party here in FL, and typically it seems like there's quite a bit of interest with most events, whether it's dancing, bowling, etc.
