Well, I dropped the brace and header today to correct the exhaust leak on the 81 Rabbit. Seems that the weld hand not just broken loose on #3, but #2 was also in bad shape and the pair were rather thin or rotted near the flange. So, an hour of torch welding to build it back up I got my header sorted out and fixed, put back on the car and all quiet

The shift is nothing like anything you remember! It's so notched and tight. Since you're getting a ride I might even put that passengers seat bushing on, just to cut the terror factor down a tiny bit ;>
