Oh no!

So, last night raayat mentioned to me that we had run out of the blank tea bags. So this morning, I pop onto one of my favourite UK tea sellers Copeland and Shaw and up comes a page that reads:

It is with regret that our company has gone into administration. We wish to thank all our customers for their business and loyalty over the last four and a half ( Read more... )

I have other places I can get the filters, the problem is that they had one of the widest selections of very good quality tea (herbals in particular) that I have ever seen in the UK and were the makers of my very favourite Earl Grey Lavender blend.

Very. Sad.

Gah. That sucks. I still haven't found anywhere local to get my favourite decaf coffee beans from since my local place shut down, either.

If it's any help, Atkinsons is the loveliest tea and coffee shop I've ever visited in the UK, importing lots of stuff direct, with a big selection and people who actually care about the product. Don't know if they'll carry anything as odd as Earl Grey Lavender, but they may be worth a shot for other things.

Oh no! I'm so sorry to hear that, I was so happy for you when you'd found a tea company you were really happy with over there. *hugs*

Me too. I guess it is back to trawling food markets again (there could be worse fates, I admit).

I assume that "administration" is the British equivalent to bankruptcy?

In any case, you have my sympathies. Specialty shops are so tough to replace once they're gone.

administration is indeed the same as American bankruptcy (the kind one doesn't come out of, I forget if this is the chapter 13 or chapter 7 variety). They had the coolest web address too: thecuppa.co.uk

I like the tea shop in Neal Street by Covent Garden. It's called The Tea House, I think. I don't think they do herbals but I adore their flavoured black teas, because the flavourings are natural. For example, the mango tea is just good quality black tea with tiny bits of dried mango!
