Here here! I received my depressing letter last year. The most frustrating part of it is that I have totally bought cds from artists I'd found through them. It continues to baffle me why companies just don't take that path that seems to WORK.

I know!! It's the same here, there are at least *thinks* 5 new artists that I've bought CDs for and at least another 5-10 that I have queued up. Better get those names off there before the 15th.

The saddest thing is that this is actually making me come around to raayat's joy of fireballs.

And just to make matters worse, my mp3 player is dying. I'm not sure I can resuscitate it from its latest seizure. . .

Grrr... It is just so frustrating.

p.s. Hello! Do you know I manage to talk to you less when you are in the States because you aren't online as much? I find this terribly sad. :(

EDIT: Yes, my ipod seems to really hate the cold. The batter does strange things.

All iPods hate the cold. I try to keep mine inside two or three layers, with just its little headphone cable sneaking out a tentacle like some sort of Borg pet. It makes it very happy.

That is, I do that when the weather is not GORGEOUS during the january thaw. Excuse me while I go FROLICK in the SPRINGTIME.

I know that they are trying to make some money and stop pirates and what not but in my case I'm old school enough that I feel obligated to own the CD if I like the music I hear online. And how the heck can I buy the CD if I can't hear the music? I'm not on Pandora (I do have an account on Last FM, I don't know if they work in the UK or not) but I used to use Hype machine a year or so ago to find new music and now its changed into something lame and useless.

Ask rayaat about setting up a proxy here in the states - I've been meaning to look into that for my dad to help him get around some of the blocks he encounters in Abu Dhabi.

I don't know off the top of my head if it'd work for streaming things like Pandora, but one never knows.

Laaaaaame. Luckily for me, they seem to think that I'm US-based, but that still sucks massively. Pandora's one of the best things to come out of Web 2.0.
