Arts Review - including TANGO!

So, last Saturday as most of you know, raayat and I went to the Beginner's Intensive Tango (Argentino, not Ballroom - evidently there are bitter differences between the two styles) class at my gym, and had a fabulous time. 4.5 hours of Tango loveliness. I have a Velaquez print on my wall here - Las Meninas. Foucualt begins his book "The Archeology of Knowledge" with around a 20 page analysis of that painting.

You make the tango sound so fun. My boy and I nearly took each other's toes off practising the box step for our wedding so I think it best for me to sit quietly with hands folded rather than give into mad urge to search for tango lessons near us. xx

Tango IS fun! And I got my toes stepped on plenty of times on Saturday, but as we got used to each other's step length, it got a lot better. I have to remember to keep the bickering in check though. Holding my tongue and following another's lead are complicated for me even off the dance floor!

oh man. I am so bad at following it is TRAGIC. Swing dancing is a lot of me just... frantically trying to work out what they want and seething that I just want to twirl, thank you v. much.

I saw on one of your husband's posts that you're taking Tango. So very very cool! Yet another reason for me to completely envy your life. *hugs*
