As for following the race, we got to see a few slipstream moves...but most of the action was away from us. But then obviously it isn't like the TV, where you can follow a lot of action.
Depending on where you are sitting, you get a decent amount of action. Like I could see all the pit stops.
The giant screens are good, but not great. To see the timings etc, I used my 70-300 :p. So take a good pair of binoculars along...it'll help
Cool! dude, I so need to do this sometime :P About watching the GP live, how good are the timings on the track, do you get sector timings for quali or something like that. How bout the podium? you must have been in view of the presentation...
You get the exact television pictures from F1 on the track, so that has the split timings etc. Plus if you get headphones from the track, you can listen to commentary + pit to car chatter. Most of this will be drowned out though, when the cars go by you :p
I got to see a part of the podium, I was a bit too far off to see all of it. I saw Alonso and Kimi accept their trophies and do the champagne gig... but it was quite far off.
