The HEROES fail is sheer elegance in its simplicity.

My general rule for International Blog Against Racism Week (ibarw) is to shut the hell up and listen. For example, I wrote up a long post which I just deleted, because it took me a lot of words to say not very little. Here is my attempt to say it quickly:

(1) The Heroes panel at ComicCon had eleven people. Three of them were (white) women. One of them ( Read more... )

tv: heroes, ibarw, comiccon ftw

It makes me so very miserable, thinking about what Could Have Been. Somehow, that's even worse in the context of What Actually Was.

the other spends most of her on-screen time naked because of her empathy tattoos which can only be read by a man reading her skin

I'm sorry, what?

And here I thought nothing could make me hate the show more than Peter Petrelli. Clearly I was wrong.

In fairness, it's entirely possible that ANYONE can read her empathy tattoos and it just HAPPENS to be a man in a position of power over her.

I was at the panel and I really was glad you asked that question... and really was disgusted by the answer. I'm glad I ran across this post because I really wanted to say thanks to whoever had asked the question. So... thanks.

Thank you. I'm glad you said that, because I felt very much like That Asshole Spoiling Everyone's Fun.

(Although not as much as the dude who went just before me who wanted Hayden P to hang out with him. BUT CLOSE.)

I watched approximately 25 minutes of Heroes once, so I am not qualified to talk about it.

What I do want to talk about is the fact that your 'comiccon ftw' tag seems to have more entries that were posted before you actually went to ComicCon than entries that you posted after coming back from ComicCon, talking all about the fun things you did there. *taps foot impatiently, waiting for more entries*
