I liked the original, but I *loved* this version!

Kudos for having the guts to not end it with an E/Vince happy ending. Travis was absolutely perfect and this version of Vince--I just didn't think there was any realistic way he could have been what Eric needed.

E's a very lucky boy. An awesome boyfriend and he gets his hetero life partner back!

Yay! I'm glad. And "hetero life partner" is a great term for Vince and E.

IT WAS WORTH YOU BEING GONE FOR SO LONG IF THIS IS THE RESULT OF IT. I LOVE THIS STORY SO MUCH I AM ABUSING CAPSLOCK FOR IT.

Ok, No, seriously. I take my hat off to you for having the guts to go back and look at a story that we all said we liked (but didn't quite love), and figuring out how to fix it, and then doing it without flinching, even though it meant writing it like this.
I... just, this story makes me SO HAPPY.
Because you addressed all the problems about Vince that the show has been proving exist, and you followed it to the logical conclusion, and you didn't even pair them off symmetrically, but let Vince stay alone, the way he set up his life for himself.
I was holding my breath throughout this because with every step Travis was growing more and more dear to me, and this was after I already loved him from the first version, and I was on tenterhooks about how you would resolve this. And you went the distance!

OK I AM BACK TO THE CAPSLOCK BECAUSE I JUST WANT TO SQUEEE ABOUT THIS STORY. THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!!!!

YOU ARE WELCOME! :) I love the comment, and thank you for it. I have been playing with this for a long time, so I'm glad it seems worth the wait.

And I kind of developed a crush on Travis, I admit it, so there was no way he was getting an unhappy ending.

As always, this is a great story.

I love E finding someone of his own; and Vince learning that it's ok. I really like Travis, too (which I swore I would never do!). I didn't expect to be content at the end of this one, but I am. I love it when the boys end up in happy places.

Thanks so much for sharing.

this was absolutely lovely- you have this incredibly human way of writing- i feel for the characters and empathize and it's so freaking amazing.

"Motherfucker, he thinks, over and over and over, until it’s just the usual drumbeat of anger in his head when Shauna walks up and he has to function again."
this hit me as so real, such a real way for E to deal with his emotions.. ah, i'm awfully incoherent but it's just, alright, i've totally done that, when you're completely furious with someone, but you can't seem like it? "the usual drumbeat" was especially familiar.

this was ... ahh. wonderful. and i'm so happy it ended up e/travis. i LOVE travis. and he's so hot. except, y'know, for the whole not-real thing. heh.

in conclusion, this was really good. :] because E is ever so domestic, and would fit so well with a non-commit-a-phobe guy. i love how they're so real, from the red carpet to their couch watching nascar. *g*

I figure E's got real practice at being nonverbally furious with Vince, like that -- all part of the manager stuff. And doesn't he totally deserve some guy who's not afraid of the C word? Hee. I admit all of my E sympathies are on display here. Glad it worked for you.
