On the Green line on Monday I almost died trying not to laugh because I was standing near the driver and both he and everyone around me had terribly thick Boston accents and were all talking to each other. They were giving directions to someone (or something like that), so they kept saying the T stops on the line, and it was so hilarious because like, 90% of the T stops have names that bring out the Boston in everyone (Park Street? Haymarket? Arlington? Good God). On the plus side, it meant I knew how to pronnounce everything in London, except that I was afraid to because if I did even the Americans would laugh at my accent. Although I think it's impressive I don't sound too bad, considering the fact that my parents really do talk like that (as do most of my relatives).
