Hey, I am enjoying the crap out of this...basically it is two great tastes that taste great together as an AU.

One thing though: Arsenal's Emirates stadium is in the borough of Islington (which is a pretty large area, comparable to a US county.) Islington is not a neighborhood. The neighborhood that the stadium is in (where the closest flats and houses would be) is Highbury. It's about two miles from Hampstead and that's not considered close by London standards. I have lived under the shadow of Emirates for five+ years, so I'm particularly delighted with a fic set in my 'hood!

I think I mention that it's in highbury as that's where they put erik up. I don't know where the whole close thing is coming from, but I bow before your superior knowledge. Also arsenal's actual training ground is way out of london, which is not emirates, as I mention in my disclaimer I purposefully distorted the truth.

ETA: So now that I'm not drunk I think I understand what you meant--in regards to that conversation with Charles. It's that one sentence where Charles suggests Islington. I was in London in March, and so obviously, as a Californian, who now lives in New York City, my perception was that the Heath was not v. far via the tube. I spent a lot of time looking up neighborhoods (literally) for young people to live in and Islington came up as a neighborhood.

Neigborhood of Islington in Islington. When Charles refers to Islington, he means the neighborhood. Not the entire borough. Obviously neither of us are wrong, I think it was just a miscommunication ( ... )
