Esca is not unused to nudity. He and the other boys of his tribe had swam in the river naked when the summer's heat drove them into it. He'd wrestled and played and mostly been unconscious of it. To be sure, the Brigantii were not so happily naked as Romans who seemed to be forever searching for reasons to strip. He has never seen Marcus naked, even though he is supposed to help him bathe and dress. Marcus is forever throwing him out of his room at those times. Esca assumes it's because he's embarrassed of the angry looking wound on his leg
