ITS THE NEW YEAR KIDS.
It's the Chinese New Year.
Your character blinks and suddenly they're in a chinese market. It's late evening and people are wandering around excited. There's fireworks and decorations, and quite a few chinese dragons roaming the streets. There's food stalls, and games, and goldfish catching. Happy New Year; you can't get past the market.
To add, your character either finds themselves dressed as their animal, either fully or with just the trimmings. If their year isn't known, they find themselves in kimonos or anything otherwise oriental in style. Let's keep it real, guys. =/ In the center, there's an open plaza with benches surrounding a fountain--a highly detailed Cod spewing glitter into a large pond where several actual cod are somehow swimming. They are also rainbow. Because I say so.
