Everything is Rent.

I think it would be hard to find a Rent or Broadway fan in general that did not know of the event taking place this evening. Adam Pascal and Anthony Rapp's highly anticipated return to the Nederlander brought a crowd the likes of which a lot of us had never seen. I heard one person call the lottery a "baby Rent 10" which saw upwards of 1,000 ( Read more... )

A lot of people saw this as a step backwards for Adam and Anthony. Why go back to where you started, but I say...why NOT go back to where you started?

It my be cheesey, but I'm going to quote bon jovi now:

Who says you can't go back, been around all around the world and
that's a matter of fact
There's only one place left I want to go, who says you can't go home

I'm glad it was awesome, I wish I could see it, but I'm going to have to live vicariously through you. And don't let the haters get you down, you know where it's at and you know where your heart is, and maybe you should just tell them that next time ;)

I saw the show too. I'm from the rent community, ha.. Anddd I agree with most of what you said. The energy in the theater was unlike anything I've experienced in the Nederlander before.. or any other show for that matter ( ... )

She tries to make everything cute. Her facial expressions and the way she'd pitch her voice sometimes is what I was referring to.

Oh my gosh. That sounds absolutely riveting, amazing and wonderful. I am absolutely positively jealous of you right now. I would give anything to magically transport myself to NYC right now and watch the show.

I am so happy that you had such an amazing time and I don't think you will experience anything like that again :D

What a lovely write up!

I'm going to see them in a few weeks and I absolutely can't wait. It'll be my first time to see Rent on-Broadway, do you mind giving me any tips about trying to see the cast after the show? Like where to go, how long to wait, etc? Thanks!

Yes, that was very helpful, thank you so much! I thought I had heard that the Nederlander didn't truly have a stage door, so I had no clue as to where to even stand. I appreciate you taking the time to answer!

I got the autographs of 7 (only the woman who played Joanne is missing, I didn't see her come out) and I was right in front for Anthony/Adam/tamyra coming out and I can tell you first hand, it was pretty scary and there were times I wondered how unsafe it could become if there weren't so many guards.

That said, SO worth it!

Thank you SO much for the review!! I'm seeing them tomorrow night and I absolutely cannot wait! I bought tickets the first night my friend called me and told me it was confirmed and since then I've been so excited for them to come back and reprise their roles. This is the first long review/post of the experience and I was dying to know how it went. Thanks again for writing such an amazing entry about an amazing event :)
