what a magical tale. how I love the gentle beginning, studying the ancient spell, with such reverence! And the unfurling of the story, beautiful! You depict Salazar as the west/water energy so beautifully - he is shy, and deep. The revelation of his and Rowena's great loss is so bittersweet. And how interesting to give them a powerful magical enemy. I was intrigued where that could go.
I love how they were willing to make such a great sacrifice. And the aftermath, very mysterious! There's something up with Old George, isnt there? Does this mean a sequel??!! **crosses fingers**
Finally, as I realized where we were going to end up, I think, how effing brilliant! They are all at loose ends, successful but saddened, and bonded by the experience. They are going to start something BIG!

I'm so glad you liked it! I didn't really think it was all that awesome, but I'm glad you did!
There might be a sequel...though I never really thought much of Old George, he was just someone I threw in at the last minute to make the end work.

I know this probably isn't the best word to use, but I really do think that this story is very interesting - in a good way, I promise! But it really is such an intriguing take on the Founders. I love Rowena and Salazar's history, and the fact that Salazar had an elder brother, and was not the original heir of Slytherin, is just so unique - even the fact that there was an heir of Slytherin before Tom Riddle... it gives one something to think about, and gives one an idea about the kind of dynasty the Slytherins had set up. I also love how you used the idea of "those who can't do, teach" in such a literal way. What an idea!
