NEW PROMPT - AS IF YOU GUYS NEED IT...

Jul 06, 2007 13:55

Guys:

A couple days ago I got an opportunity to get caught up on last week's fic. I have to say, I just...really...wow.

Wow.

I'm amazed and inspired each week by your creativity. I'm awestruck by the skill with which you all mold your ideas and your words around these prompts and turn them into something unique and different and oh, so good.

Ahh! I actually recognize you from ff.net. When you wrote "returns to writing", you actually mean finishing "Echoing Emptiness" RIGHT? How long must you continue to torture your readers?

Oh, and thank you, kimonkey, for clarifying the rules. Here's another question that will test your patience for the chronically late and/or procrastinators..: What if, say, I--er, one of the readers want to expand on one of the stories they've posted for one of the past prompts? Hypothetically. Because they might have sorta rushed the end and skipped out some elements they might have wished to include?

*ducks*

This has to be a record for me. The idea percolated over the weekend and just gushed out of me today--at work, but please don't tell my boss! Honest, I couldn't help it. This is different from anything I've done before. Only the second ever in present tense and my first attempt at writing from the point of view of a (very bright) 6-7 year old boy. The language, structure and somewhat odd grammar were deliberate, although not in the sense that I gave it a huge amount of thought and planning. Like I said, it just sort of took off on its own. I would love to know whether or not you, my fellow f-f-spinners, think it works. Seriously, either way. BTW, the t.v. show referenced at the beginning of the story is real. It was an episode of "Beauty and the Beast." Okay, on with the story:

Oh lord. This prompt has done something to my brain, I swear. I may have something written by friday, but it will
A) Possibly be the crackiest idea ever
B) I will have tried to make it serious
and therefore C) It will suck.
I'm actually only commenting here to say damm you kimonkey, for doing such things to me.

Ah, yessss...

My first damning of the week. I always feel so much better once that's happened. :)

PEE ESS: I was bunny glommed with an idea yesterday, and I too, shall be racing the clock.

OK, it's really annoying me that I'm CLEARLY not going to be able to finish my fic in time, after all that damming *g*
So, lovely found_fic members, I now bring you an EXCITING SNEAK PREVIEW of this weeks fic, which is currently at consandcritters. In this way, I hope to fool the all powerful oz, kimonkey into not noticing that I'm late. Yay!
