I'm really sorry- that sounds like a shitty situation, but you seemed to manage it pretty well- I would have called a tow truck...or chicken most likely. I would have been wielding my huge flashlight (that seconds as a weapon) just in case that SUV u-turned.

And despite the stressful, unfortunate situation- you wrote about it beautifully. I really enjoyed it =)
