Wherefore art thou small Liberal Arts College?

There was an article posted on AOL today about the most expensive colleges.  I scanned through, imagining I'd see UM there.  Surprisingly, it wasn't listed.

My curiosity always skyrockets any time there's some sort of Forbes/USA Today/other obligatory ranking article posted online.  Today, I was somehow sucked into Vassar.  It's such a tiny school ( Read more... )

Other than the architecture (too hot for brick this close to the equator) and the leaves changing, everything you missed was there. But you're not an old lady, so stop talking like one. You can always leave Miami, and you can always come back. You can always go back to school, too. I'm so freaking excited about doing that soon.

Don't pay attention to school websites and brochures, either. They all paint the same rosy picture. School, work, life is largely how you choose to see it and experience it... it's all about attitude and perspective.

And please don't say that music failed you; that makes me sad. Maybe certain asshole professors and bureaucracy did, but never music. :) In all of my trials and etc. with teaching music, I've never felt that it failed me -- maybe the other way around sometimes, but that's just something I gotta deal with.

On to the next entry I feel like leaving a comment on! :D

haha. I'm not talking like an old lady! I know the brochures and whatnot are meant to make you think the school is great. But even in the few schools I've visited (never for the purpose of deciding if I wanted to include them in my decision, always for some other event), there just seems to be this electricity and vibe that I never felt at UM. At UM, it seemed like you HAD to find organizations to find real people. :Lkjeoijfl. It was all so strange. Going back to school is the reason I came to Ameriprise. I wanted to make enough $ to pay off my bills and go back. Re-doing my undergrad is probably not an option though...
