Coffee paintings

I've been painting pictures in coffee.

It's not that easy. Coffee is more of a stain than a pigment, and it's not so much painting as it is making little puddles in specific shapes on paper and waiting for them to dry.  But I've had a few results that I'm sort of happy with.

In that case, let me tell you what I did: I used regular coffee, brewed really strong (I put an extra scoop in the filter, and half as much water as I'd normally use), and painted on watercolor paper with my watercolor brushes.

I'd like to find a way to get darker colors without having to put on extra 'coats.' That sometimes created a glossy effect that I didn't like.

If you try it, be sure to let me know how it goes!

I think they're all awesome, and also think that perhaps you should write and illustrate a kids book. :)

Thanks. And I've been working on that, actually. But it won't be in coffee.

Oooh, there's an evil part of me jumping up and down, going, "How about soda?" Hehehe.

Nope, the third one is no longer available on Etsy.

I bought it!

How do you like Etsy, by the way? I've thought about making some things and trying to sell them on there.

Oh yeah? Well I just RE-LISTED it! How do you like THAT? ;)

Thanks so much! I suspect you'd like it hand-delivered personally by the artist? I could have sold you one 'under the table' so you didn't have to pay the shipping fee, you know.

As far as Etsy goes, I just signed up the other day to see if anyone would buy my crazy coffee picture. So far, it's been very positive!
