If you got the cash, go to fuckin NYU. You will hate purchase.
Terrible food.
Terrible dorms.
Terrible administration.
Your fucked if you dont have a car.
(lots of drugs)
Terrible parties.

Good dance program, but I can imagine after PVA you want a fun college experience.

Why be close to the city when you can be at the city.

my aunt's partner is a Prof. at NYU and says that it's academics are in a total disarray. She says the school is currently resting on its laurels, and if they keep on jacking up the tuition (about $48,000 but that isnt counting travel/transportation/social/shopping costs) people will realize its just a name rather than substance. Also from what i've heard NYU doesnt have a college type of vibe either, since it is spread out about the city it is more like you're living in a small, crappy apartment with a couple of roommates.

personally i'd ask Justin and Marlene about this. yes they might be biased towards their programs, but they seem to be the only sources who can really tell you anything of value since they are actually in the dance programs at the schools.

Take a look at some of the recent Dance Magazines. Compare how many times you see purchase mentioned vs. NYU. From the past three issues that I've read, I've seen Purchase mentioned about 3 times per issue, and in the latest one there was an entire interview with the new dean of the dance conservatory. At least by reading those articles it could give you a better view of the school and how it is viewed by the dance public.
