It's a Facebook group that someone started called "LiveJournal Lives" -- and it went viral, kind of. All these people - many of whom had abandoned their LJ's - joined the group and there's been all this nostalgia for the good old days of LJ. Some are returning. As for me - I'm still posting on LJ, but haven't been active here in an age. Sadly, however, I'm not "fortysomething" anymore... I've aged out! LOL!
I didn't get the memo about the Facebook group, but since I really want to keep FB and LJ separate I will probably stay away from it. I'm glad a few people are coming back to LJ!
I aged out of this community a long time ago...in a few days I will be 61! But I guess that's still forty and something, right? ;-)
Actually, I'd aged out of this community when I first joined, but at that time (2004), the Fiftysomething community was not around - or if it was, it was inactive. So - I decided not to care. :-P. Bottom line: most people were not as old as I was on LJ! Right now I'm "bordering" on age 67
I'm with you for keeping LJ and Facebook separate. I have family and IRL friends on Facebook I do NOT want to know I have and LJ.

Call me strange, but I never went away. I don't post as much as I used to, but I'm still here...
