I have to think your specific situation is pretty darn rare, but having mixed feelings about the success of an ex is as common as dirt. If this person is as horrid as they sound, though, be glad you didn't have to go through all the extra crap that went into finishing the movie! Be glad you have the good friends you have now! And most of all, be glad your father is doing well!
well, were it not for similar complicated feelings for my father, i think i could take some comfort there. but you are right; the extra crap would have made me feel like i did the first time around, an accessory. and it's also true, my choice in friends got a whole lot better when i was out of that relationship. thank you for pointing out the bright side. i think maybe if there are oscar nominations it will get dicey, but with pretty much a hack at the helm, that probably won't happen so i should just put it outta my mind. thank you mr. garrett.
The best revenge is ALWAYS living your own life well. And the second-the very second-you truly get your groove back, that's the moment when your ex is at ebb tide. These are the rules of the universe ;)
Ack, you're right, no experience of that here. In fact, no experience of even knowing where any of my ex'es are. I guess I'm pretty good at being oblivious. But I can't really imagine how awful this must be, added with the father thing.
Good things definitely happen to bad people, as a way of pissing off good people - that I have experience of, almost too often.
I think the only possible solution is to escape to the UK!
