2 ♪ A homeless Fonist walks the City...

[It seems like she's gotten a better hang of working the communicator since last post. There's no camera shenanigans this time, at least - just Tear staring dead-straight at it, brushing some hair behind her ear before voicing her point succinctly.]

...it seems best to inquire on the network about how one goes about housing.

barracks, better second impressions, !polychrom, social interactions?

Well, you've got a few choices. Hope you're not the indecisive type.

I'm not looking for anything fancy. Just a bed under a roof.

Head in a direction. Find a tall building with a number on it- then find yourself an empty room.

It's that easy.

[An eyebrow quirks, and her voice is curious rather than suspicious.]

A bit too easy. There is no authority or overseer?

[Luke runs a hand through his hair.]

We have a couple of extra rooms. You could stay with me and Asch and Guy... if you want...

That would be preferable, if possible. [And then quickly clarifies -] I-I mean. Since I'm familiar with yours and Guy's habits, it would be simpler than finding a stranger.

[All the faint blush under her bangs.]

[So nothing she's unfamiliar with.]

R-really? I mean-- yeah, that makes sense! The City doesn't let people live alone. Not without the ticking.

[Luke gets up-- taking his PDA with him, of course-- and goes to one of the empty rooms. Ion's stuff is long since packed and stowed away in case he returns. The sheets and drapes are blank white and what furniture he had is covered up. The room still smells like him, though-- light and airy and a little sweet.

He opens the curtains, letting in the cold winter sunlight through the window.]

I'll talk to the others. ... I don't think they'd mind, as long as you don't sneak up on Guy or anything.

[The room on the other side of the communicator's video is drab and bare, but no less so than her quarters in Yulia City, it seemed. Certainly of a sufficient size for her needs.]

[The blush is still on her cheeks. She's no domestic, and even if she's used to traveling with Luke, sharing at a permanent address is different. What if he doesn't prefer it...]

I doubt that would be an issue. Who lives in the apartments; only you, Guy, and Asch?

Oh, do you have any friends here? If you do, perhaps you could share a place with them, if not then...

[She thinks for a moment, realizing she may have said something insensitive if indeed she didn't know anyone.]

...then there are many people here would be more than willing to help you find a place to live and get settled in!

A few. Perhaps I'll ask.

[A small nod. If she's taken any offense, she's not showing it.] The people here have been quite accommodating to newcomers.

I don't believe we've met yet.

I don't believe so either. My name is Estellise--[She makes a polite nod towards the camera.]--it's a pleasure to meet you.

You can either start looking for a roommate or just take up residence in one of the abandoned apartment rooms. It just depends on if you want to live with someone or it you prefer living alone.

[A small frown.]

Is it common for people to just move into abandoned rooms and set up home?

Reply

[Video] eagleofautozam December 6 2011, 03:46:19 UTC
Yes, actually it is pretty common. I believe that is why the apartments were setup to begin with, to house all of the people who were pulled away from their worlds. So, it really isn't a crime to live in one of those while you are here.

It seems like a system that would lead easily to chaos and competition among visitors, for the better rooms.

..perhaps it's surprising to me that the Deities are content to leave us to our own devices after bringing us here.
