Oh, um...He's a Tyrogue. It says he's a fighting type! [She looks to her right] Right Tiny? Tyrogue!

So it would seem from your experiences that Fighting isn't as effective against Flying. I will remember that, thank you.

[Naoto hasn't seen someone who looks so...young here yet. This is mildly distressing.]

That is true, excepting types that are entirely nulled by other types. I have discovered, for example, that Ghost type attacks are nulled by Normal types.

Most of the type-weaknesses follow pretty logically, like fire being weak to water and flying being weak to electricity.

Ghost-type moves don't affect normal-type Pokemon though. And vice verse. [he learned that the tough way in Sprout Tower]

[Thank goodness for logical weaknesses.]
Knowing that will make things easier to discern.

Ah, so the reverse is also true. Thank you.

I'm guessing you had to figure out that last part the hard way?

Watson learned an attack called "Night Shade" and I was curious to see the effects, only to find out that the Rattata I was battling nulled it completely. Further attempts showed that it was the "Normal" type that was the common point between the ones that nulled it.
