Glad you thought so, Teamane *g* And thank you for taking the time to tell me so! I always love a happy ending, but that possibility isn't what first drew me to this pairing - I adore the tragedy of A/L, and I like attempting to frame them within contexts we can all relate to ;)
*G* Yep, makes sense; I always write angst because it is soo lovely to me. I'm delighted that you liked it, babe, and thanks soo much for letting me know! FB is always treasured :)
Meep. *giggles* You have no idea how delighted I am that you liked it; much like everyone in the ficathon (I think), I was definitely concerned about living up to expectations. No faint praise from you, so I'm greatly relieved :)
Absolutely beautiful. The structure works well, and the imagery is lovely. It made me think of one's life flashing by before death, and how some part of Legolas is dying because he has lost his chance with Aragorn forever. Some of my favourite parts:
time slows to the pace of shadows lengthening in evening
This image is excellent.
Arwen is Aragorn’s lady; her love for him, and his for her, is as obvious as the caress of a knife.
Another powerful and poignant image.
Legolas pauses against the bole of an old Mallorn, older than he, and rests quietly under the dark of its leaves. The man’s eyes flash with little pieces of starlight and fix Legolas immobile against the tree.
Very visual.
Overall, this is a well-constructed, sophisticated and lovely piece. I've completely lost track of the ficathon by now, RL's just too hectic, but I knew this would be worth reading. Wonderfully done, darling. *hugs*
*Meeps all over the place* I'm glad it worked for you :) You know what? After a year, I'm *still* trying to write something for you (something went to a beta back in August, but I decided it sucked, and the beta sorta concurred - sorry I never sent you a piece to beta, but I couldn't very well send you that one to beta! :-P). So I just threw away the fourth story I've attempted to write for you. One of these days I'll get it right, though :p
Glad somebody else picked up on the idea of one's life flashing before them in a few short seconds before a major, life-altering event like death - that was definitely the idea.
Btw, you *definitely* want to visit the group tomorrow ;) One of my fav authors is posting, and shall I say that I was a bit corrupt? :-P Also btw, did Belinda ever send you feedback?
Don't worry about writing for me. It would be a wonderful surprise, of course, and you know I'd probably love anything just because it was written by you, but don't stress yourself with it in the least. I'm just happy to see you post a fic every now and then, whether it's for me or not. <3
I read Belinda's piece and will try to send feedback this weekend -- it was marvellous, as her writing always is. She dropped me an email a while back saying she hadn't had the time to read 'Silence' yet, so I guess she'll get back to me about it sometime in the future. *shrugs*

The man’s eyes flash with little pieces of starlight
All the things I regret most in my life are the ones I *didn't* do, not the ones I did. Legolas has longer than most to consider that.
Thank you again for this exquisite gift.
