This is interesting. I like the background you have created for Antonin. I do wonder what sort of relationship he had with Pansy, or really what she thought it was. It doesn't seem like they were romantically involved but it also isn't quite clear how much of what she is telling the aurors is true or what is the whole truth. He certainly is trying to protect her in his own way, it seems.

Thanks for the review.

I spent time doing the research into a plausible background on him - why he was who he was, as little that was seen. I also wanted a rationale reason why he was considered so high on Riddle's cadre of followers - the brutal efficiency in his mercenary tactics.

Part of the dynamic is that you don't know everything that goes on. It's only her words, what she is willing to admit that comes into the story. He's fled for the the Continent, gone into hiding, yet all they know is what has been investigated - not whether she loves him, whether he was nothing more than a mentor, or something else. Whatever the complications in the dynamics, there is some UST, whether from her or him. Pansy is complicated and also pulled in various directions. But losing her foundations of her life - and everything she believed in - that is what makes her who she is now. What that entails from this moment - that will be something I might explore further.

I loved this exploration of a lesser-known character, and I loved the mentor/student dynamic between Pansy and Antonin. The ambiguity about what exactly had happened between them was nice, too, and whose side exactly Pansy was on.
