Swimming had always been among her favorite activities. The weightlessness and sheer floating she felt seemed to calm her, soothe her ever moving thoughts. So she donned her suit and pulled on a pair of shorts and a camisole on over it before picking her way slowly through the house and onto the patio. Hair pulled back into a messy bun atop her head and a towel slung over her shoulder, she was ready to sink into the cool respite of calm that the pool always brought.
Except there was somebody already there.
Jean walked up beside the woman and smiled down at her, motioning to the spot beside her. "May I?"

It was beautifully peaceful out here, the gentle ripple of water and the sounds of the other occupants inside the house providing just enough background noise. Klara, waiting for the woman to settle, held out her hand.
"Nice to meet you, I'm Klara Prast."

Jean grasped the other woman's hand and gave it a firm shake. "Jean Grey," she replied more calmly than she felt just then. It wasn't the other woman in particular that had her nervous, it was the mass congregation of bodies being so near in the house. "Pleasure." There was a small pause as she tried to think of something, anything to say. "So, where're you from?"

She had worried, been concerned that she wouldn't fit in. Especially seeing as she had left everyone behind to move here. Klara could sense that Jean was tense, but over what she couldn't tell and nor would she pry. It wasn't proper to go nosing about in other peoples business anyway. "What about you Jean? Where are you from?"
