I guess winter is finally here

They are now calling for us to get 3 to 6 inches of snow tonight, and another 6+ on Saturday night. So this should be a fun weekend.

Tomorrow night my work is taking us all to a Wild game for Christmas, and paying for us to eat at a very good restaurant in the arena too. They've done this three years in a row now and we all love it. Of course, it's ( Read more... )

I love watching commercials that have won awards. I'm reminded that at times there is actual thought put behind what is created. Yes, I've seen commercials that I don't care about the minute they're over, but there are also ones that stick with me -- whether they're serious or funny or whatnot.

That's what makes the British Ad Awards so great: you get a concentrated dose of the ones that stick with you, without having to endure hours of pap.

You have to watch out for the "Public Service Announcement" portion of the awards, though. Forget about the "Just Say No" commercials that we mocked as kids; these ads pull no punches. There were multiple people in the theater crying by the end of that section.

Fun fact- that high-rise block and housing scheme? In the worst part of Glasgow you could ever imagine. They demolished it the day after, which was a bit sad.

Aw...I adore your icon. I want to huggle it. (It's also reminding me of a webcomic I read infrequently called Gunnerkrigg Court, in which the heroine has a malicious-yet-not-100%-evil magical creature trapped in the body of a small white stuffed animal. I think Antimony and Reynardine would get along well with Mo and Snow!Sylar. They've even got the same "You tried to kill me!" vibe going on.)

I wondered if those flats were real or just, like, shells constructed on an abandonded area specifically for the commercial shoot. I drove past the horrific projects in the worst parts of Chicago several times while they were being demolished; too bad they couldn't have been used for something interesting before they were gone, too.

Thanks for the return-friending. I read your proposal for the continuation of Sylar's storyline with rainbows and unicorns, and I knew I had to get in on it if I could.

Also, I like your mood theme; I am soldiering through very slow streams of BBC Life on Mars at this very moment, and I love it muchly.

I'm glad you enjoyed that one! I've just been really frustrated with Sylar's storyline and figured, since it feels like it's being written by a 14-year-old who's in luv with him, we might as well make it as ridiculous as possible...

I love Life on Mars. I found an all-region DVD player on Amazon.com and bought it largely so that I could watch the UK DVDs of the show. John Simm is so wonderful to watch in that role.
