DAMN YOU, NEIL GAIMAN.

Apr 28, 2008 21:03

So I was just going to check my flist quickly before I settled in to write a bit, but in Neil Gaiman's latest post, he'd added some widgets for his Last.fm account. And I've never bothered to pay attention to that site before, but the fact that one of his most frequently-listened-to songs right now was by Brenda Kahn made me check it out. And I ( Read more... )

I am so thankful that no one else was around when I saw this, because I just stared open-mouthed for about 10 seconds, and then went into total cackling hysterics. I mean...WOW.

Apparently, the advertising world isn't one to overlook the Mylar community XD

Lol, I love blaming Jeph Loeb for stuff like this, he is so awesome:) I love watching the Mylar pop up everywhere.

It totally amazed me. I suppose it shouldn't, since they are quite, quite nice together...

It is TOTALLY Jeph Loeb's fault. He wrote both "Unexpected" and "Powerless". It is all his fault that the two of them became totally irresistable... ;0)

Bahahahaha! OH MY GOD. You have to be right! I had to back and read our 100% innocent posts to remember that we didn't actually use the word 'slash' in there. I even looked up yaoi just now, and it means slash (I'm sure you already knew this, but it blew my mind). Even thought the actual slash ad was for something else, the Google algorithm still knows that Mohinder + Sylar = male/male romantic pairings that women dig.

I both blame and love Jeph Loeb for so much. I personally think that maybe David Anders just read his line in Powerless, and Loeb was like, "Do it again and put a little pause there. Between the 'more than a friend' and the next line. Right good. That's a wrap."

Wow. That just made my evening. Thank you. :)

SRSLY. It was a perfectly innocent conversation that didn't even have a hint of sexual commentary about it! And yet Gmail still decided that its best bet was to assume that there was, um, subtext there.

Actually, I just learned what yaoi meant a few weeks ago. But then, I really truly am not a slasher at heart. It's just...those two. And Gmail clearly agrees with me... ;0)

Jeph Loeb just amazes me. I realize that he only wrote it, he wasn't the one who made the directing choices or acting choices. But...my God, he wrote it, he provided the nucleus of it. I actually made some very delicate comments about "Powerless" to a friend's boyfriend who's a big comic geek, and he said, "...Haven't you read his Batman stuff? If you had, you wouldn't be so surprised that he might write two male characters that way..."

Jeph is the biggest reason why I started shipping Batman and Superman again, his stuff is so slashy and awesome:)

He gave me Batman: Dark Victory and keeps asking if I've read it yet. I really need to...
