For circularmaze - A Night on the Town

He promised her a night out among the joyous delights of Paris, but he wasn't going to take her to anything too racy. Just some of his favorite haunts - the ones without gambling tables - and decent drinks. Something with music, though he hadn't danced in ages. He knew she might like it, so there was that ( Read more... )

Ariadne was currently racing around her apartment looking for an adequate scarf. She didn't need it of course, her outfit was fine without it, but it was one of her 'things'. She was wearing a simple blue dress, almost like a late thirties vintage dress with baggy short sleeves. Finding a white scarf, Ariadne was almost ready.

She heard her cell go off and ran to the bedroom to get it. She grabbed her shoes on the way and answered in a hurried voice.

"Hello?" She asked, not recognizing the number. She was simultaneously hopping on one foot to put her shoe on.

Eames smiled to himself and looked up at the window that he knew was part of her flat.

"You sound breathless, dear. Is that from anticipation of the night ahead or are you looking for that other shoe?" He picked a dressing issue at random, naturally, with no actual clue as to what she was specifically doing. "If it's the former, I'm very flattered. If it's the latter, come barefoot with me through Paris. It'll be terribly enchanting..."

Ariadne smiled at his voice, not going to ask how he got her number. It was Eames after all. She laughed lightly at his words. "I'm sure you tell all the girls that, Eames." She said as she grabbed her other shoe and put it on.

"Where are you? You're not calling to bail, right?" Ariadne asked as she grabbed her purse on the bed and headed into the other room. She didn't hear anyone outside her door, so she had no idea where he was.

It would be just as well if she didn't ask how he'd acquired her mobile number. Eames had all of their numbers, though it was tricky to keep track since they tended to change a lot.

"Oh, no, I'm not going to bail on you, dear," he said, still watching the window. He lowered his voice a bit more. "I just thought I'd call and whisper sweet nothings in your ear in the hope that it would speed your decent..."

It's folding in on itself at the bottom. mobilisomnia September 21 2010, 19:48:45 UTC
She nodded, though she wriggled under him slightly. He still hadn't made a move to get up. And she understood him perfectly. It was all about where were they going to relocate to. What would taking him back to her place mean, and more importantly what would he think it meant. Ariadne would take it by ear. It's all she could do, really.

"Right. We could go back to my place. I mean if you want. Not that you know..." She cleared her throat. That was far more suggestive than she intended. "We still have a ton of wine left and all. We could just lounge around."

Because clearly after making out like that, lounging around was the only thing on her mind.

Thank you. Have altered the journal, as you directed. forgerthief September 21 2010, 23:53:56 UTC
Eames regarded her thoughtfully. A myriad of responses came to mind, but none of them seemed quite right to sum things up. Her wriggling didn't really help matters, because his body was responding to their kisses. Too much movement would make that clearly apparent, though he doubted it was a secret.

"Lounge around?" he repeated. "Sounds intriguing." He rolled to one side and sat up. "Regardless of what we do, dear, I think I'll reseal the bottles." He picked up his glass and finished the contents in one, quick gulp. He shouldn't be thinking about doing anything other than escorting her safely back to her flat and tucking into her - tucking her in, you git...

She wasn't going to comment on what she felt. Ariadne probably instigated it by moving. It did leave her a little breathless though. Well, he left her a little breathless. She sat up wide eyed and watched him. She knew she was playing with fire here, and there was a very real chance she could get burned.

But then she liked the risk and she genuinely liked him. She liked being around him. And kissing him. Yes, she liked kissing him. A contented smile formed on her lips as she looked over at him.

"Yeah. Just the two of us. I think I have left over Thai in the refrigerator and an old record player. Talk, hang out." She said, trying to sound way more confident than she was.

Because a man like him probably didn't want to talk. And deep down, neither did she.

Just the two of them. In a flat with Thai food and wine in their systems and an attraction between them. She had returned his kisses, after all. It wasn't as if he was forcing himself on the young woman. Eames never forced himself on anyone.

He didn't have to.

"Sounds tasty," he said, leaving it open to interpretation as to whether he was talking about the Thai or being in a flat with her. He was just a bit of a bastard that way. Standing, he reached a hand down as an offer to help her to her feet. He'd retrieve his jacket once she was off of it. "Coming, dear?" He smirked a little at that and found his eyes drifting down to her legs and where her dress ended.
