I would tell her just like that. The truth. That you had something planned until last minute and forgot about the e-vite. That you are really really sorry.Ask her how you can make it up to her, take her out to dinner or something.

Frankly, I never take e-vite as seriously as real invites. Don't know who organized this bachelorette party, but I would have called EVERYBODY a few days before to know who is coming.
With E-vites, it's more on a "come if you can" basis, no? Well, that's my opinion.

You know, I thought the same thing. I don't work with them anymore and so I barely see them..we don't socialize on a regular basis...they should have CALLED ME. Really, or text me or something. I usually send out multiple reminders and give out phone calls when I have an event.

(shrugs) I can't unring the bell. I already sent them a message...I took your advice.

I definitely agree that evites are far from binding agreements... Especially if it was sent forever ago, and there was no sort of follow up or reminder.

So yeah, I get why you feel guilty (I'm sure I'd feel the same), but at the same time it's not entirely your fault. I hope you're able to work things out!

That really is an awkward situation. Since you honestly forgot, you can only feel so bad. I def think its great that you're going to send a formal apology and its nice that you got to spend time with someone you enjoy (even if it was during a time when you could have been some where else). All in all, I think you're handling this well!
