First comment again :)

Whoa, Alma is scaring me. Hopefully Monroe will have a soothing influence on her. Don't let her find out about Jack staying at Ennis' place too soon and scare Ennis right back into his shell.
Oh sheeeet, I can picture too many complications from that side. I hope I'm wrong.

I loved reading them both together (no surprise there).
So Jack is hoping for a future far from WY and TX. Hopefully not too far, thinking of their kids. Maybe Colorado? It's right in the middle, it has mountains, and ranches...

I guess I better stop now and let you write the story, LOL. You set my imagination into overdrive with this chapter.

Thank you for the new chapter. Great reading as always. Looking already forward to more.

Hey there. I see I got your mind spinning about all the possible directions this story could go. Right or wrong, I just hope you like the direction I'm going. *wink*

Btw: Chapter 14 is up!

Thanks, like always, for your very kind words. And, yes, Alma is scaring, but given that Thanksgiving scene in the movie, I think it's not far-fetched to believe she is seething, in silence, with the injustice of it all. Here, Ennis was the one who was unfaithful to her and some of the town gossips are convinced that she was the one stepping out on Ennis.

And, truly, let's be honest. Alma has to be steaming mad that she had to settle for Monroe and Ennis got Jack Twist. Woooooo-hooooo. Life's not fair. LOL!

I am worried what a women scorned may do when she finds out that Jack Twist is at Ennis's home for awhile and well this bothers me but maybe Monroe can be of some sort of positive influence on the situation. I just loved how they laughed together and connected so well with the pup marking the boots and then to think that Ennis went to the trouble of looking up Lupines and their meaning and what they stand for in his eyes. Awww, thanks so much, Joe. Yeah I think the guys' banter and ability to just enjoy being in each other's company is the best part of this story. That little Lupine is a real gift though too, don't you think? Almost like he fell from the sky to help bring Jack and Ennis together and get them off that damn mountain.

Alma is indeed a woman scorned and there's no telling what that will lead to. Guess you will just have to keep on reading. *smile*

god, i just can't stand alma. she spends too much time hating ennis and dreaming up ways to get to him.

some of your writing in this chapter, about their new special moment in particular, is absolutely lyrical.

i liked the work they did with the wolf pup. lupine would be a great name for him.

Oh, I'm glad you liked the name, Lupine, gr. I think Ennis agrees with your assessment, because he's going to have alot of fun calling that pup, Loopy, just to get a rise out of his man. Of course, deep down, we know what is really in his heart every time he says the name.

And, yes. Alma is a bitter, bitter woman who, like so many people, seems to have a hard time moving on with her life. She is filled with anger about dreams shattered and obsessive when it come to Ennis in a way that is not healthy. Betcha she's homophobic too.

Sharing with me that you think my writing is lyrical is very much appreciated. I wish I had more time, but I'm doing the best I can with a WIP, because trying to balance credible storytelling with captivating prose is definitely not easy at this pace. Glad to know that you think whatever I'm able to achieve ends up being a satisfying combination of the two.

Chapter 14 is up!

Love, Debra.

Good evening, Tracy. So glad you are enjoying the story and, yes, Alma has reason for her anger, but maybe not her obsessive fixation with her ex-husband's present and future. Like so many women who feel scorned, she simply can't move on with her life, even though she has already found a loving and supportive companion. I wonder how that will play out once she finds out that Jack is staying with Ennis? Oops! That's right. I'm the one who's supposed to provide that storyline! Guess I better get crackin', huh? LOL!

Seriously though, I appreciate your kind words and hope you continue to read along. Btw: Chapter 14 is up now.

Love, Debra.
