Excellent chapter! And I loved the Don Mclean song. He's one of my all-time favorites, and that's a song I had actually never heard before. It put me in a tranquil mood.

Thank you,
Leslie

Thanks so much for reading, Leslie. I've thought for a long time that this particular song held so much meaning in relation to the universal themes of Brokeback Mountain. And, I agree, Don McLean is one of my all time favorite artists. An amazing songwriter and singular voice whose lyrics can crush or console. Or, as Roberta Flack so aptly wrote about his artistry he's, Killing Me Softly With His Song.

I hope to continue to see you around these parts as I figure out a plausible scenario of how Jack and Ennis might have lived their lives if they had only had some extended time together to work things out. Thanks again for your support. Love, Debra.

wow. you covered so much territory in this chapter. this is just a fine job.

i especially keyed in to ennis' unwillingness to talk to monroe and alma. could have handled it a little better, but this is ennis we're talking about.

i really like jim. i thought ennis might go off on jim when jim told him he was gay and he was telling ennis because he saw jack with ennis. thought ennis would get aggressive saying 'oh yeah, what do you mean by that?' and i really liked the comparison you drew between our two hootin' and hollarin' boys.

i'm looking forward to your next installment. you're doing a good job on updating.

Hey, there gr. Yes, Ennis could have definitely handled his encounters with Monroe and Alma better, but the most important thing is that he's finally trying to give Jack that sweet life. I'm glad you like Jim because I'm rather fond of him myself. He definitely will make more appearances for sure. Thanks so much for your kind words. They mean the world to me.
Btw: Chapter 12 is up!

Love, Debra.

Feeling the world expanding around you and letting you live a fuller life is an amazing thing and a wonderful thing but so scary for so many. Too afraid to take the chance on living and go about our mundane ways when so much is out in the world to make it better. I hope for the best and I'm proud of Jim. Joe

I'm very proud of Jim too. Who knows, he might even end up being a good role model for a certain stubborn fool we all know and love. One of the aspects of Jack Twist that I believe helped to make Ennis fall so hard was his insatiable lust for life. For wanting more and actually having the guts to go out and get it. Maybe now that the boys are settled for a bit, many Jack will be ever to continue to broaden his man's horizons.

Your words are always encouraging and incrediblly insightful. I'm thrilled to have you taking this ride with me.
Love, Debra.

this is one beautiful writing you do here
thank you
I have to go back and read all the other chapters

perhaps Ennis needs to find another supermarket, why should he have to always argue with Alma?
and the talk with Jim was amazing- you did a good job with this
I'm looking forward to more

Well, hey there, Paula. I've haven't seen you around for some time. Hope all is well with you and yours. I laughed when you suggested that Ennis might need to find another supermarket. Remember, this is a small town and how else would I be able to work one of our favorite antagonists into this story? I figure we've got to have a little conflict once in while. And, let's be completely honest, we can't have the guys making love and snuggling up ALL the time. Although, now that I think about it....LOL!

Hope you've had time to catch up on all the chapters by now because Chapter 12 is up! Hope you enjoy my next installment.

I look forward to hearing from you again. Love, Debra.

Oh, this was wonderful. Ennis really is coming around. And Monroe- He's the wingman! So glad to see you flying through the chapters these days!

Goooood morning, Donna. (Or, is it afternoon where you are?) I am thrilled that you are still having a good time reading along with each chapter. I understand you don't like WIPs so I consider your continued support a true gift. As a result, I promise I will not disappoint and will continue to post until this story plays itself out, which the way it is going right now doesn't appear to be anytime soon. Fingers crossed that I won't overstay my welcome. :-)

Please know that I feel especially privileged since I now know about your personal aversion to man's best friend. In honor of your bravery, I made sure to add a certain disclaimer on Chapter 12 that I hope will reassure you.

I don't know if I'm flying through the chapter, but I'm definitely gliding along wishing for a soft landing.

Love, Debra.
