Two young actresses recently attended the world's oldest film festival.
Here's 14-year-old Fatima Ptacek and her costar Paul Wesley (who plays her uncle) at a photocall to promote their film Before I Disappear, on August 27. The movie is a full-length adaptation of the short film Curfew, which starred Fatima in the same role. Curfew won Best Short Film at the Oscars in 2012; Fatima attended the ceremony, and writer/director Shawn Christensen mentioned her by name in his acceptance speech.
Dakota Fanning, 20, hasn't attended many public events lately, but last week, she flew from New York City (where she's been attending New York University since 2011) to Venice to attend the dinner premiere Miu-Miu's film series project, Women's Tales, on August 29.
At the event, Dakota bumped into another former child star, Kirsten Dunst, now 32. Here they are with Franca Sozzani, the editor of Vogue Italia magazine.
