- Daiki’s POV -
My heart stopped beating as I heard what my parents had said, I was loss for words and looked at them blankly.
“I’m a what now?!”
Great! Just what I needed, I thought that my whole life is ruined. I never for once thought about this sort of stuff happening to me. Yeah okay, I love and believe in vampires but only in books! This is real life were talking about. I stared at my parents and waited for them to say that it was only a joke and laugh, but apparently that didn’t happen.
“I’m sorry about this Dai-chan, but our family from generations to the next generations has and always been a vampire” said Mrs Arioka
I looked at both of my parents before something clicked in my head, now it makes sense why people often not believe him when he says they are his parents. They both have young faces that don’t seem to age even though they’re in their late thirties. On the other hand, I’m pretty normal except I’m shorter than an average person, never mind the fact that I was a hibernating blood sucking vampire! Although it solved why they still have that kind of faces, it doesn’t change the fact that I’m a living corpse.
- End of POV -
“So you’re also...?” Daiki trailed off as he looked at his dad
“Yeah” nodded Mr Arioka
“So why are telling me all this now?” asked Daiki
Daiki signed knowing full well what they’ll tell him is not something he’s probably going to be thrilled about.
“That’s because once you turn 16 it’s inevitable that your life would be changed” answered Mr Arioka
“When I turn 16 my life will change? How so?” glared Daiki
“You’ll stop aging and lose your human features…” said Mr Arioka
Daiki’s face went pale as he stepped away from his parents, and letting his instinct take over as he ran out of the door.
“What are we going to do?” asked Mrs Arioka while she rested her head against her husband’s shoulder.
“He needs to accept the reality or things would get tricky once the people find out about his existence that we worked so hard to hide” said Mr Arioka with a gentle voice that was evidently laced with worry.

Daiki ran out not knowing what he was doing, he was an emotional wreck his emotion was all messed up. Not aware of his surroundings Daiki ended up cutting himself whilst running through the bushes. Slowing his pace he felt himself bumped into a hard chest and fell on the ground with a soft ‘thump’. Daiki looked up to see a taller boy who was looking down at him he was wearing an unfamiliar uniform.
“I’m sorry!” Daiki apologised as he kept his head low and continued walking away. The taller boy kept his gaze at the direction Daiki had ran off to before a familiar voice called out to him.
“Hey! Who was that?” asked Chinen
“Someone that bumped into me?” said Yuto as he looked at his small friend
“Eh? Really? He feels different…” said Chinen as he stared at the same direction as Yuto
“Un…” smiled Yuto “He has the same aura as the one from the crimson clan”
“Crimson clan? Wait… I never heard of them having a son or a child for that matter?” said Chinen “The council might take an interest in him then”
Yuto had a smirk decorating his face, knowing that soon there will be some changes with the clans and maybe a new student at their school.

Daiki felt his legs giving up on him from all the running he had been doing, when he finally took notice of the place he ended up at. He found himself in an abandoned park and the only light source that was helping him see was gentle light of the moon and the occasional stray lights of on-coming cars. The park was gloomy; it was surrounded by trees which casted shadows around him. Daiki noticed the empty pond straight ahead void of any animals; Daiki shivered at the cold wind that brushed against his skin, when out of nowhere faint voices started coming through. Without second thought Daiki unconsciously followed the voices, where it led him just in front of the pond where he saw his reflection disappearing. Fear suddenly came over the poor boy making him step back, the sudden burning and agonising sensation came over his chest. Falling on his knees he felt himself falling out consciousness, before vaguely seeing a figure in front before he was consumed by the darkness.
