The coffee shop I'm pretending is my office today is awash in tall fit redheaded blokes.  (And, at different tables, a roughly equal number of young women in hijabs.)

Rather than letting me (tech support) deal with our guys in Tamil Nadu (software developers), my boss insists on translating a technical description of the problem into gibberish ( Read more... )

Okay, I'm late to this party and don't know any of these films anyway. What did you decide on? And is the zombie kick because of the book you just finished? We just got it in at the store today (on accident) and I was like, "Oh, I heard this was pretty good!" It actually looks pretty interesting, at least.

Sucks about your boss and your hours. Did you ever hear back from the people you interviewed with?

How was Portland?

(Did you ever pick up more Scotch?)

I picked up army of darkness and the original dawn of the dead. I'm sure the book has a lot to do with it, and it seemed more reasonable than asking the clerk if they had something like Office Space with more explosions.

I got a hold of the interviewer Wed., but he was in NYC in a bar and basically said they hadn't got everyone on the same conference call to make a decision yet, but they hoped to by early next week.

Portland was pretty good. I got a lot of project stuff done for mom, saw most of the people I wanted to see, and made it to a couple of parties.

Unfortunately, my brother's tax return (my future loan) wasn't in yet. So I didn't get anything much for myself while I was there. Which means I'm drinking Mixed-Message Screwdrivers tonight. It's Burnett's vodka (from Kentucky!) with Odwalla.

If you like much gore and dark humour, just rent "Dawn of the Dead". "28 Days Later" is also very good :)
Would you like to become my LJ-friend btw ;)

I did end up renting Dawn of the Dead. Brilliant! I so love the graffiti in 28 Days Later as well.
